Be nice to each other

After having read an article last week about a women being trampled by customers in front of a store that was having a big sale while everyone was trying to get in the door, I hoped that would be an isolated incident. Here's another one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/3295965.stm A women runs over the manager of a McDonalds restaurant when she was told that her order didn't come with mayonaise while she wanted mayonaise on her cheeseburger.

Spread a little peace and be nice to each other! You'll get much in return if you do.

Name your children

Pioneer, Nutella, Uncle Ben's, you can be naming your kids all these names... According to this BBC article, some parents in the US have been naming their kids after famous brands. Time to get knocked up and creative!

Elf, what a great movie

This will be short and to the point.  Let it be known Will Ferrel is a comic genius.  The man is hilarious and did not disappoint in his latest flick, the elf.  I was laughing the whole time.  And the people spoke as well, as it came in #2 behind the matrix this past weekend.  So, in short, a great little funny movie.

North Shore Surfing fun

Hope everyone had a fun fantastic weekend.  My weekend was pretty bland up until sunday when I got to head up to country(North shore), specifically Haleiwa to go surfing.  North shore had a nice winter swell and was going off.  It was the best surf I have had since the last good south swell (about a month or so ago).  The surf was perfect.  The sets lined up perfectly, one right after another.  It was basically how fast you could paddle back out to catch another one.  And they were HUGE!  That is the one big thing I will miss about hawaii.  I will miss the perfect surf.  Even though there is surf on the east coast, it does suck.  But there are other things to keep me busy, such as skiing, snowboarding, tennis, and whatever else I can think of around bmore.

Also, I think now is a good time to discuss christmas gifts.  You guys should email me, or leave it on my website here what things you like and may want for xmas.  Keep in my I will be using mucho mucho dinero moving back and driving back, so keep it simple.  hehe.  Plus I only have about a one week window to shop when we are driving back since I am not going to buy gifts here and ship them back or take them on the plane with me.

Anyhoo.  I get my results back from my MRI on tuesday.  Yippy.  Hopefully it wont be too bad.  Til then, .......  aloha and mahalo.

MRI fun and coming home

Well guys.  Not too many big updates.  I have my MRI this week and a follow up appt on tuesday of next week to determine exactly what and how bad I damaged my knee.  Hopefully it isnt anything too bad or anything that will require surgery.  But with my luck probably not.  However, I cant complain too much.  I dont know if all of you saw what happened to a local surfer from hawaii.  She actually lives on the island of Kauai.  She is one of the top 3 surfers in the world for her age group and was a certain lock to be a pro surfer.  Howver, last week, a 12-15 foot tiger shark ended all that.  The shark bit her arm off, right below the shoulder.  Moral of the story, dont complain too much because it can ALWAYS be worse.  You can check out her website and leave words of encouragement for her at

www.bethanyhamilton.com

In other news, I will be leaving sunny aloha hawaii on december 11th late at night and flying into San jose 6:30am in the morning.  Woohoo.  From there I will be meeting up with my sweetie pie and we will take a train back to the bay area where I can pick up my xterra.  Then we are staying 3 nights in a really really awesome hotel called Saint francis.  Then the journey begins....across country we go!  Hopefully we will make it back sometime around the 22nd or 23rd.  It could be earlier, or it could be later, although it wont be later than christmas.

alright, well about does it for now.  adios.

Whalerider

I know I haven't been keeping up with my blogs, mea culpa. It's the jetlag... Any excuse is as good as another, no?

I just remembered today that I saw a great film on the plane back home. Whalerider, made in New Zealand, with a wonderful young girl playing the main character, and beautiful music performed by the amazing Lisa Gerrard. I guess you might say that I'm biased when it comes to New Zealand (for obvious reasons), but this film is really moving, especially when the girl Pai performs at her school, and in her contact with the whales. Go see it http://www.whaleriderthemovie.com/

slacking on my blog job

Well guys, like everything else in life I have been slacking on the blog.  However, I am back in action!  hehe.  Anyways, good  and bad news to report.  According to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN, if Jopa decides to retire this year, Kirk Ferentz of Iowa is rumored to take the job over.  Now that would be awesome since he is a big time college coach who is young and innovative and capable of coaching current and future (better talent b/c of him) to a national championship.  However, there is still the belief that Jay Paterno is being groomed to take over his dad's job which would suck ass since he is a dumb ass.  Oh well, I am going to go ahead and believe the Kirk Ferentz rumor.

In other news, I now have my 2nd MRI scheduled (first one was for a back injury a few years back).  Seems as though I have torn some ligaments in my left knee.  Big Boooo!!!!!!  The doctor thinks I tore my PCL (posterior colateral ligament) and possibly others.  So, I get to have an MRI done to see what they need to do to fix it.  Here is hoping for NO SURGERY!  haha.  Adam, you were right, my knee diving antics have come back to haunt me.  haha.

However, in other good news, I have learned of some pretty good surf breaks off the coast of Maryland around Ocean city and North and South of that point.  You have to use a wetsuit in winter and spring, but that means I can still surf!  hehe.  So who is with me?  :)  Check out the breaks on
